چکیده

Methods A crossectional survey was carried out on 69 patients who underwent triple phase CT imaging for suspected hepatobiliary neoplastic involvement at a referral hospital in Kenya that had acquired its first multidetector CT scan (16 slice) between July 2008 and March 2009. Justification of examination (matching clinical indications and imaging findings), optimisation of scanning parameters such as mAs and KVp as well as radiation doses in dose length product (DLP) and effective dose were assessed.

Initial documented rhythm as a predictor of survivalto-discharge rate after in-hospital cardiac arrest in a tertiary care referral institute, South India: an observational study

Objective: Survival-to-discharge rates following in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) patients remain significantly low. The use of initial documented cardiac rhythm as predictor of Survival-to-discharge is still unclear. This study aimed to assess whether the initial documented rhythm can be used as a predictor of survival-to-discharge following IHCA in an emergency department of the tertiary car...

Detection and characterization of focal liver lesions by split-bolus multidetector-row CT: diagnostic accuracy and radiation dose in oncologic patients.

AIM To assess the diagnostic accuracy and radiation dose of split-bolus multidetector-row computed tomography (MDCT) protocol in the detection and characterization of focal liver lesions in oncologic patients. PATIENTS AND METHODS We retrospectively analyzed triphasic CT at initial diagnosis and follow-up split-bolus 64-detector row CT protocol in 48 oncologic patients with focal liver lesion...

MR Imaging in Patients with Suspected Liver Metastases: Value of Liver-Specific Contrast Agent Gadoxetic Acid

OBJECTIVE To compare the diagnostic performance of gadoxetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging with that of triple-phase multidetector-row computed tomography (MDCT) in the detection of liver metastasis. MATERIALS AND METHODS Our institutional review board approved this retrospective study and waived informed consent. The study population consisted of 51 patients with hepatic meta...
